Greetings!
Portal editing and additional custom pages is coming in the near term (after the release of private zuild chat). In the mean team if you have any favorite widgets you would like to see made available please let us know. We have a number of fun and useful widgets planned, but I'm sure there are a lot of other good ideas for widgets we can add.
What sorts of content or widgets were you having in mind for your portal page?
Let me know if there's anything else I can help with =).

Are you more interested in game-specific templates? or generic templates?
And for fonts, are you talking say for logo generation? or being able to choose fonts to override the template's built in font?

I think he means in the posting code. There's a planned post sweep coming, I'll throw up a thread for everyone to pour in collective ideas when that sweep is going through.
As far as templates go (While I know it's not what you meant), there is a built in Zuild Custom Theme designer, where you could make your own and distribute it to others.

game specific templates would interest me if you have any planed as i am setting up my guilds game website here. But a font color palate and font selection would would nice as well.

We do have more game-based templates planned, though for copyright reasons we can't use exact artwork from the game.
Have you tried our theme designer at all? We're currently planning a review of it to make it easier to use, but I'm wondering if you have any thoughts on it yourself if you've tried it? The theme designer currently let's you pick your own fonts and colors as well (using CSS).

I am currently gathering info on css and plan and trying the theme designer once i get a grasp on css. have been looking for tutorials and css programs that would make it easier on a css newb

Fair enough.
I think for our revision of the theme editor we'll try to include plenty of example css next to each element of the designer.

Right now, the announcements that are posted in the forums show up on the portal page. But the entire announcement shows, instead of the just the heading, as it appears it was designed to show because of the "read more" link. Is there a way to hide the content there?

That's a useful feature. We have a new widgets system in the works, which will let you customize the position and settings of widgets on the portal page and on any other custom page. If not sooner, we'll have that feature as an option for the Announcements widget once the new system is in place.
